I use Iron from after version 47. It is 48.0.2550.1 now. My emvironment is Windows 7 Pro 64bit, Windows 10 Pro 64bit.
I'm not appointed for a default browser even if I push the "Make Iron the Default Browser" button of the setting.

I used Firefox elsewhere and appointed it for a default browser so far. The default browser designation of Firefox is canceled by handling it in Iron. Thereafter, tool bar of the designated confirmation is displayed in Iron by a default browser whenever I start Iron. Even if it overwhelms the button, it is similar.
I write it once again, but the designation of the default browser of Firefox is canceled then. For example, Firefox starts when I click a URL by a mail application. In the case of Windows 10, a default browser is reset to "Edge". And setting of the default application of Windows 10 is displayed.
I can't set it even if I use the Iron Config & Backup Tools app. The designation of the default browser of Firefox is NOT canceled then.
These are both 32bit version and 64bit versions of Iron. Even a Administrator user is similar.

When it is 32bit version of Iron, the setting to a default browser seems to be possible. When it is 64bit, I can't set it.

Setting is possible with the 32bit version and can't set it with the 64bit version.
What is this reason?

Am I right in concluding that there is no way to make Iron my default browser in Win8 64bit?
Messages here seem to enter the realm of total stupidity in that trying to make Iron the default browser involves using "EDGE" ...DUH!
Shame because I like Iron but like so many things related to Google the reality is disappointing and leads to finding an alternative!

Please use the "Config and Backup Tool". You can find it in Startmenu under "SRWare Iron".

Cannot find it through Control Panel either though I did manage to make Vivaldi my default by that route!
