UA.ini not working

Hello,
since web.whatsapp.com wont let me use it with the default Iron useragent I tried to change it permanently creating a file called UA.ini in the Iron root directory which is "C:\Program Files (x86)\SRWare Iron" (non portable) in my case.
The content of the UA.ini:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/41.0.2228.0 Safari/537.36
Restarting Iron and visiting whoer.net however stil displays the default user agent:
Code: Select all
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/41.0.2200.0 Iron/41.0.2200.0 Safari/537.36
Did I miss something?

Mine looks like this. It could be an issue with 41x build; I had issues with Flash so had to go back to 40x build.
Code: Select all
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/40.0.2150.0 Iron/40.0.2150.0 Safari/537.36

UA.ini feature is currently not active, sorry. You can use --user-agent=

hi there.. i manage to use iron for whatsapp web using --user-agent parameter..
on my case, i use app shorcut, make a shortcut on desktop, put this on target box:
Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files\SRWare Iron\chrome.exe" --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/41.0.2228.0 Safari/537.36" --app=https://web.whatsapp.com/
note that the path is for default installation for iron.
Capture.PNG
or you can browse to
https://web.whatsapp.com/ (ignore the suggestion to use other browser) and make an application shortcut (setting-more tools-create application shortcut-put on desktop), and then edit the shortcut by adding the
--user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/41.0.2228.0 Safari/537.36" part. and open whatsapp web via that shortcut.
alternatively if you dont want the application mode, you can add the user-agent parameter on Iron Browser shortcut itself.
Hope this help.
