Clearing the browser history

Hello, in ver. 74.0.3850.0 the "clear/delete web history" tool doesn't seem to work... or rather it appears to hung up indefinitely, it doesn't finish the operation.
A fresh install didn't help, I don't want to use an extension. Alternatively, could maybe someone point me to where the cookies and history are located for manual deletion? Thank you.
