Was the Flash player you installed fro MS Internet Explorer by some chance? If so, you need to also install the version for 'other' browsers; IE Firefox, Iron, etc. Adobe Flash Player 10.1.102.64 (2.66 MB)
I think this link will work. http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?no_redirect
Forget about the message at the top. Download and install.

Thanks for yoyr reply !

I will delete the flash player and try the link you gave me.

When i use Iron there is a message under the toolbar that i have a missing extension, this is weird because i have the flash player already installed from Adobes download page. Hopefully your advice helps.

What version of adobe photshop is compatible with windows vista? I just bought a new computer and it came with windows vista. I am hesitant to load the older version of adobe photoshop from my old computer. I have heard many stories about vista issues, and I don't want to chance having issues to get an older version to load, and would like to load a version that works within vista.

Please, dear Lord would someone provide some definitive information as to how to get flash content working on websites..

AMEN

I have both the latest IE + NON IE versions installed.

Flash - Version: 10.2.159.1
Shockwave Flash 10.2 r159
Java - Version: 6.0.250.6

All enabled!

read all the Adobe bumf and searched the web until the cows came home.

So for the life of me why doesn't the built-in-auto-updated crappy thing just work!

you must verify another thing:

go on adobe site to verify your storage settings

http://www.macromedia.com/support/docum ... ger03.html

the most sites want to write date in local, if you dont permit it you cant use / view flash player

Flash settings are good - I don't clean them other than manually via the location you have indicated. I've checked them a half a dozen times today and they have not changed.

in about:plugins have you 2 flash files enabled ?
if is enabled the built-in version you can switch to the other one (installed for non-IE version) to try it ..

if doesnt work, you can consider installing the debug version of flash player (or content debugger flash player)

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

switch in about:plugins to use the debugger version

you can see using debugger version some error messagges which can help you find the origin of the problem
