Any way to download from Chrome Web Store?

Just dealt with this "BUG" in chrome and actually the solution is quite simple!!!

Doesn't work (on portable Iron)

I'm using the latest Iron version (portable) and it works just fine

Looks like I forgot to mention that after updating to v16 the Chrome store works flawlessly.
I don't know what the issue was, but it's been Ironed out (pun intended ).

go to chrome web store and copy the link for the extension you want:
for example smooth gestures:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... necgldgeld[/b]
3. take the last part (the extension signature):
lfkgmnnajiljnolcgolmmgnecgldgeld
and replace with it the <ID name of extension> from the first link:

http://clients2.google.com/service/upda ... en-US%26uc

4. now take the link in another browser (IE, firefox) and you will can download the installation file (crx file)

I understand how this works, but where did you get the first link? the link that i have that goes to the webstore is not formatted like that.

It is the real link you can download the extension (which google hides)

if you go into:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions

you'll see a file named manifest.json for every extension where is used something like:

"update_url": "http://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx"

the other parts you can arrive studying in chrome inspect(or) all the networks calls

Hello mapx! Having trouble following this. Also not sure if this is still accurate (noted the date was 2011).
No matter what I try and how I try it we still get the incorrect app id error -- trying to install adblock plus.
Could you let me know what the correct url would be to get adblock plus extension?

Just dealt with this "BUG" in chrome and actually the solution is quite simple!!!

Go to the "default" download directory in Iron which in my case is (full path) "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents" and create a "new" folder called "Downloads". Once this is done, you can change the download path in the Iron options section to whatever you prefer!

Since the webstore is critical functionality of iron, iron should come with a preinstalled extension that automatically does the above process for you and lets you download a crx from the webstore with a simple click
